Friction false-twisting unit - uses abrasion resistant materials to increase component life and reduce maintenance times

The construction of a yarn false-twisting unit, for texturising, has a number of interlocking friction units with the main friction unit being a ball or ellipsoid of wear-resistant material such as an oxide layer on a roughened aluminium body or metal oxide-ceramic or in the form of case iron while the discs of the secondary friction unit have edges of polyurethane or other material which has a higher abrasion coefficient than the yarn being texturised. The components have a high resistance to abrasion, therefore increasing their useful life and reducing lost time for replacement of worn parts.
