Heat- and corrosion-resistant linings for use in chemical industry are applied with welding rods or powders contg. 0.2-6% Cu, 16-80% Co, 15-40% Cr, =4% C and =20% W, Nb, Ta and/or V, where Cr, W, Nb, Ta and V are completely or partially bonded to C. Pref. alloys for linings resisting reducing media consist of 2.2% C, 30-32% Cr, 13-20% W, 39-47% Co, =2% Mn and Si, 0.2-6% Cu, =6% Mo, =10% Ni, balance Fe. Pref. a hollow or core wire is used contg. 16-80% Co, 15-40% Cr, =0.3% C and 0.2-6% Cu, and =20% W, Nb, Ta and/or V where the carbides of W, Nb, Ta and/or V are present in the core inside hollow wire or on jacket applied to core wire.
