A machine for rolling out portions of dough, comprises a mobile frame which can be incorporated as a work station in a strain of conveyors. The frame has on its upper surface an endless belt and positioned above this, a mechanically operated dough roller both being driven by mechanism below the belt, energised by a photo-electric cell at the receiving end of the belt, responding to the arrival of a lump of dough. The dough roller is arranged to lift and lower, as well as rock on arms positioned on each side of the belt, the motion being transmitted from a motor via a single turn coupling, a crank and a connecting rod. A pressure cylinder lifts and lowers the roller. Machine is fully automatic in operation without auxiliary help, and is adjustable as regards the thickness and length of the rolled out portion; it is mobile and applicable where desired in the train of conveyors. A clear view of the operation is possible and it is cheap and highly productive.
