The pipe support is installed in a housing (1) and consists of a cam (3) supported on the roller (5) mounted on the lever (16) which is restrained by the compression spring (7). The cam (3) is also guided by the rollers (10) so that it moves vertically under the influence of the load (P). The profile (3') of the cam (3) is of parabolic form and so arranged in relation to the roller (5) that the vertical component (C) of the reaction (F) is constant irrespective of the horizontal force (R) which is exerted by the spring (7). In this way a constant supporting force is applied to the pipe irrespective of any movement due to thermal expansion or contraction.
