Examples of warning or control devices are lamp 11; horn 12; a valve 13 in fuel supply line 14 to cut out the engine; a butterfly valve 16 operating to pass exhaust gases either through the reactor or a by-pass 20; a device retarding the firing point of the ignition system 66, an air number regulating device or a system supplying exhaust gas to the intake.
