1421304 Venturi scrubber joint DORROLIVER INC 2 Jan 1974 [2 Jan 1973] 00086/ 74 Heading B1R A water-seal expansion joint in a vertically orientated venturi scrubber having an upper convergent inlet section 27 and a lower divergent outlet section 16 comprises a venturi throat region between 27 and 16 having an inlet throat conduit 34 attached to 27 and an outlet throat conduit 36 attached to 16, wherein conduit 34 is concentric with and extends into conduit 34 without contacting it, a cylindrical sealing wall 38 which together with bottom wall 37 forms a channel 39 which is filled with water and a weir 31 concentrically mounted with respect to 34 on 27 and extending into the water channel 39 to a level below the end of 36 but above the bottom of the channel 39.
