1439048 Metal complexes of bis-azomethines for colouring polymers CIBA-GEIGY AG 14 Aug 1974 [11 Sept 1973] 42659/73 Heading C3P [Also in Division C4] 1 : 1 Metal complexes of bis-azomethines have the formula wherein R denotes alkylene of 2-8 C and is optionally interrupted by atoms other than carbon atoms, X denotes H or halogen or an alkyl, alkoxy, carboxyl, alkoxycarbonyl, carbamoyl, phenylazo, nitro or cyano group, and Y and Z denote H or halogen, or wherein Y and Z form a fused benzene ring and, if R contains an atom other than carbon, Y and Z must not both be H, and if R contains 2 C atoms, X, Y and Z must not all be H, and a metal. The complexes are useful as pigments for incorporation in a wide variety of plastics as melt or spinning solutions, lacquers, paints or printing inks.
