Fertilizers are in the form of a dispersion of undissolved nutrients in an aq. soln. of nutrients, the dispersion contg. (a) a hydrated magnesium aluminium silicate and (b), as a further dispersing agent, sorbitol, polyvinyl alcohol, lignin sulphonic acids or their salts, caseinate, soluble starch hydrolysate and/or sodium polyphosphate. Inclusion of the additional dispersing agent ensures that the suspension fertilizers can undergo prolonged storage without the occurrence of phase separation. In addition, inclusion of the additional dispersing agent inhibits crystal growth so that after prolonged storage (e.g. 2-3 years) an acceptable suspension is obtained again after simple mixing.
