The self locking safety belt coiling up device is for a safety belt, is constructed with a spring tensioning system which acts upon the bell reel. - The clamp jaws (3) of the device have the same profiles as a curved piece (2). They are mounted into the curved piece (2) which activates a locking system when a predetermined force on the belt reel is exceeded, so that opening of the clamp jaws (3) cannot take place whilst the belt (9) is coiled up on its reel. The jaws (3) are further centred on each other by means of a series of projections and grooves.
