Perforations are formed in the hook engaging with the watch housing pin by a tool in which one arm carries the knife and the other the anvil. Stops on the tool handles restrict the degree to which it can be closed, and on the handles there are also bosses between which the hook compartments are folded by closing the handles. One or both bosses have a groove or other suitable means for positioning the hook, and one or both handle ends have cavities closed by plugs. The tool both passes the hook round the housing pin and folds it, and secures it to the strap. The central part of the hook for rolling round the pin has several perforations decreasing its thickness.
