The swimming pool (1) has a domed roof which is assembled from arch sections (3) fixed together in a row. The sections are made of plastics and some are completely transparent. Others have one half transparent and the other half adapted for solar radiation collection (4). This half has a coiled tube through which water to be heated is circulated. The sides of the swimming pool contain flow and return headers (7, 8) which have short branches terminating in couplings (9). The flow and return ends (5, 6) of the coils in the solar collectors have mating pieces which fit into the couplings. When the roof sections are lifted into place, the coupling halves snap together making erection very easy.
