A process for the regulation of the partial pressure of gases inside fermenters

The partial pressure of gases in fermenters for growing microorganisms or cells is controlled by varying the gas throughput, and varying the stirrer speed. When there is a deviation from the desired value partial pressure, both are varied in the same direction. The speed is finally reset to the original value. This method has not the great inertia in the response as a control of gas throughput only. An optimum control of given partial pressures of gases in fermenters can be achieved over a wide range.
