The mains installation switch has its rocker lever (1) provided with a slotted web (27) inside the housing. The web slot (15) engages a pin (16) fixed to the upper end of the vertical rod (4), whose lower end carries the moving contact bridge (6, 7). The undersurface of the web pivots around a fixed bin (18), which acts as a guide for the vertically moving rod by locating in a slot in the latter. As the lever is moved from right to left the web pivots downwards around the fixed post and its slot moves from the horizontal, causing the spring-loaded rod to move axially via its pin.
