Roving mfg. process - imposes false twist on sliver before winding a filament round it

At least one of the fibres wound round in a filament yarn. The silver of 1,000-30,000 dtex. is wound round with a filament of 50 dtex. and a shear stretch 50% at 20-300 coils per metre, while the silver is advanced at a speed 50 metres/mins. The sliver is given a false twist during its passage between the feed cylinder and the winding station. The process delivers a roving which gives a trouble-free spinning, in a mfg. stage which is technically simple and allows high-speed working.
