The dispensing devices is particularly for free-flowing liquid glue, having a compressible vessel discharging through a a narrow bore in an obling cylindrical component. The wall of the vessel (1) is cylindrical at least near the outlet component (2) and coaxial to the latter. A spiral groove (5) is formed in the component or the cylindrical part of the vessel, and a cap (8) rotated by hand and fitting over the vessel hs a bore (9) through which the component passes, and a boss (10) fitting in the groove. An upper face on the cap (11) extends round the bore (9) in which the component (2) is a close fit. The distance between the boss and this face (a-b) is equal to that (c-d) between the component outlet and the end of the groove (5) nearest to this outlet.
