Heat pump for space heating applications - has absorption type circuits in parallel with compressor type circuit

A heat pump operates between an evaporator and a condenser through which appropriate liquids flow and transfer heat to and from a refrigerant. The refrigerant passes through coils within the evaporator and condenser. One refrigerant circuit is taken through a compressor and an expansion valve and operates on a compression cycle. Further coils are closely wrapped round the coils of this circuit and connected to form closed circuits in parallel with the compressor circuit. As soon as the compressor circuit establishes a temp. difference between the evaporator and condenser the parallel circuits start to operate on the absorption cycle and thereby increase the overall coefficient of performance. The entire heat pump is controlled by the compressor.
