Process comprises clamping the parison between the halves of the mould, each of which contains in its cavity 1 half of the mould nest corresponding to the intended hollow moulding. The spaces which lie within the mould but outside the mould nest are closed and a cooling medium is charged to the spaces. Gaseous or liq. CO2 at 0 degrees C is a suitable cooling medium. Risk of those parts of the parison clamped between the mould halves remaining hot and thereby preventing or hindering mould release is minimised.
