Water-permeable mat with fibres on flexible wide mesh base - with run=off channels beneath webs connecting solid base portions

Water-permeable mat comprises textile fibres protruding upwards from a flexible wide-mesh base comprises solid plastic base portions connected to each other by webs so as to leave run-off channels beneath the webs. The solid portions pref. have a height of 3-15 mm and the webs have a height which is less by =2 mm: the upper surfaces of solid portions and webs lie flush with each other. The solid portions are pref. made of PVC or polyurethane closed-cell foam, and consist of parallel beams with the webs extending transversely to them, or blocks separated from each other on all sides, with a star-like arrangement of webs. At least the webs are reinforced with a highly solidified fleece or with woven or knitted textile threads. The mat can be used on balconies and in swimming baths, and outdoors e.g. as an artificial lawn.
