Self braking furniture castor - has profiled leaf spring with pressed braking tabs on extension to bear against inside face of hollow wheel

The self braking castor has the castor pivot bearing spaced from the pivot shaft by a spring (14). The spring is extended out of the bearing to form braking tabs (24) to rest against the inside face of the hollow castor wheel when the loading is removed. The spring tabs can be bent into the required shape to provide a controlled amount of braking w.r.t. the different furniture item it is fitted to. It enables wide tolerances to be used as well as a universal design for a wide range of castor loadings.
