Food transport container is designed to hold the food so that it can readily be removed or loaded with the minimum of disturbance. It comprises a support framework from at least one side of which support plates for the food can project. These plates can e.g. swivel out on support struts or slide out on rails, which can be extended out of the container itself. The uppermost plate is accessible after removing a cover panel. The side walls can swivel outwards. The upper support plate can be fitted with a refrigeration unit or alternatively one of the plates has a heater.
