Clock displaying vehicle parking times - synchronises auxiliary display when driver's door is opened using hinge operated switch

A specialized clock and auxiliary display for displaying the parked time of a vehicle synchronizes the otherwise stationary auxiliary display to that of the clock whenever the driver's door is opened. A clock has a display (14) on one end of a rectangular prism shaped box (10) which carries the auxiliary, normally stationary clock display (18) on its top surface so that it is visible from outside the vehicle. This auxiliary display is driven by an electric motor via a gear chain and friction coupling. The motor is actuated by a switch in the driver's door hinge, used also for operating the vehicle interior lights. The auxiliary display is driven until a dog and slot in the gear chains coincide, when the two displays are synchronized, and the motor is automatically switched off via a lever and insulating ring.
