1494070 Making centrifugal blower housings TORIN CORP 31 March 1976 [17 June 1975] 12980/76 Heading B3A A method for making a scroll type housing for a centrifugal blower comprises providing a discharge plate 10, a flat scroll member 12 and two similar side plates 14, 16 and assembling them by bending scroll member 12 into generally arcuate form and attaching flanges (30), Fig. 4 (not shown), on the ends of member 12 to attachment means 29 on opposite edges of the opening in the discharge plate so that member 12 is retained by its own resilience, inserting a side plate 14 through the opening in the assembled scroll plate, attaching the discharge end of plate 14 to attachment means 24, 26 on discharge plate 10 and attaching attachment means 44 on the scroll edge of plate 14 to attachment means 36 on scroll member 12 to retain plate 14 in position and assembling plate 16 the same way. Attachment means 29 are upset portions of plate 10, attachment means 24, 26 are flanges and lugs respectively, and attachment means 34, 36 are lugs and openings. The parts may not be of metal.
