1497400 Making shoes LAMBERT HOWARTH & SONS Ltd 18 Aug 1976 [7 June 1974] 25366/74 Heading A3B A veldt shoe is formed by stitching an oversize fabric sock 1 to a soft or pliable upper 2, placing the partly formed shoe on an oversize last for the size of the shoe, applying an adhesive precoated oversize insole 4 to the sock, removing the oversize last from the shoe, steaming the upper and stitching through the insole 4 and upper 2 around the welt, applying the upper to a normal size last, solvent wiping the underside of the insole and connecting, e.g. by use of a preheated thermoplastic adhesive, a prefinished oversize sole unit 6 to the underside of the insole and applying pressure thereto.
