A vehicle is provided with means for measuring a physiological parameter of the driver's body and the measured values are used to control an alarm. The means for measuring the physiological parameter of the driver's body may comprise one or more detectors connected to, or arranged in close proximity to, the driver's body e.g. EC6, EE6 electrodes or electrodes for detecting changes in the conductivity of the driver's skin cooked by cold perspiration. The detectors may be arranged in a spectacles frame, hat or brow-band.
