AbstractA process for treating an aqueous acid solution containingat least one element selected from the group of elements consisting ofAs, Sb and Bi, said process comprising contacting the aqueous solutionwith an organic phase comprising an organophosphoric compound havingthe general formula (RO)3 P = 0 wherein R represents an unsubstitutedor substituted alkyl, aryl or aralkyl group, while maintaining atemperature of between 10° and 60°C and an organic phase/aqueous phaseratio of between 0.1 and 5, whereby the elements of said group andacid are extracted from the aqueous phase to the organic phase, andseparating the resultant pregnant organic phase from the aqueousphase.
