METHOD OF ELECTROSLAG MELTING OF SLAB INGOTS

ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREA method of electroslag melting slab ingots whereinconsumable electrodes are fed into the melting space of a watercooled mould with the mould simultaneously shifted verticallytowards the consumable electrodes. The method compriseslowering the electrodes and raising the mould and simultaneouslycausing the mould to move in a horizontal plane with a recipro-cating motion.
