The electric organ has a number of registers (8', 4', 2, 2/3') with a tone generator (4, 5, 12) for each register the DC input of which is coupled to a three-pole gating circuit. One input of the latter is coupled to the corresp. register switch (2, 3, 14), which comprises a single-pole interrupter, across which is an adjustable resistor (16, 17, 18) for volume adjustment of the register (8', 4', 2, 2/3'). - When the register switch (2, 3, 14) is open, each parallel resistor (16, 17, 18) forms a voltage divider with the preresistor (19, 20, 21) of the associated tone generator (4, 5, 12). The register switch (2, 3, 14) is coupled to a negative potential (-U2) when the tone generator is connected to earth, to compensate the voltage drop obtained from a diode (9, 10, 13) between the gating circuit and the register switch (2, 3, 14).
