The shut-off device is for one or more injectors in an internal-combustion engine, pref. of the solenoid type, the fuel being stored under pressure and injected by timed opening of the injectors. In the feed pipe before the injector is a shutoff plunger in a storage chamber, spring-loaded on one side and subjected to the fuel pressure on the other. With each injection the fuel pressure causes the plunger to move for a stroke proportional to the quantity injected, and it is returned to the starting position between injections storing a limited amount of fuel in the chamber in the process. When the max. permissible quantity of fuel is exceeded it shuts off the supply to the injector by masking a feed port in the chamber. This feed port in the chamber (10) is connected to the fuel pump (3) generating the pressure via a solenoid metering valve (15) which controls the quantity of fuel stored per injection.
