For fixing reinforcement units in position in reinforced-concrete construction, the process is for joining two or more bars, rods or similar by means of a flexible wire. The wire (3), stored on a roller (30), is conveyed to the point of connection for the bars (4, 5) in accordance with the length of a wire loop which is to be formed. At the same time the forwarded length of wire (7) is bent into loop shape in a guideway and loosely laid around the bars. The retained loop ends are twisted together, until the loop is drawn tight roung the bars.
