Positive displacement pump - has rotor with diametral bore containing piston reciprocating under action of fixed cam

The positive-displacement pump is particularly for handling commodities contg solids, e.g. fresh grapes or their marcs. It has a cylindrical body with lateral inlet and outlet ports in which there rotates, exerting slight friction, a cylindrical rotor coaxial to it. A diametral bore runs through the rotor, and in this a hollow piston slides under the action of a cam fixed in the body. The cam can be mounted on a cover, removable from the body, while a portion of the piston on the other side of the bore is coupled to the driving shaft.
