The plant is a variety of Saintpaulia Ionantha violet and named Cornelia, being a cross between type X183 blue male and type IV 18 blue female. Its flowers form a hemispherical bunch above a collar of flat, smooth edged, round to oval, medium sized leaves. On their upper and lower surfaces, the leaves are light green in colour, both sides being slightly downy. The flowers are single with smooth edges and are carried 5 to 9 on a stem. Each flower has five petals and is Victoria 738/1 violet in colour. They have a long flowering season and do not fall readily.
