摘要
Acidic gases selected from N oxides, CO2, H2S, SO2 and halogen gases, formic acid and acetic acid gases and mixts. are removed from a moving gas stream by (a) passing the gas stream into a reaction zone (b) continuously introducing a vapour of water-soluble amine selected from primary, secondary or tertiary aliphatic or aralkyl amines and mixt. into the zone at a rate producing an amine partial press. of at least 5% the total press. in the zone, (c) commingling the gas stream and vapour to effect a vapour phase reaction between them, (d) separating the reaction prods. from the gas stream and (e) discharging the purified gas steam to the atmos. At least 99% acidic gases may be removed, i.e. providing a level 10 ppm in a reactor of practical size.
