Hand-tool for cutting ceramic tile - has work top with cutting wheel adjustable straight-edge and lever-hammer assembly with ribbed anvil

The hand-tool may be used to cut ceramic tiles or glass and comprises a portable work-table (1) with an adjustable straight-edge (4), a cutting wheel (12) and a hand lever (21) for fracturing the scored tile. The straight edge (4) can be moved across the table top (1) guided by a pin in a slot (7), and can be fixed in position with a round coupling bar (5) traversing a fixed sleeve (8) with a radial locking screw (11). Once the straight edge (4) is fixed the piece (14) is scored by sliding it over the table top. During sliding the edge of the tile (14) abuts the straight edge (4) and it is passed over the cutting wheel (12). Once scored the tile (14) is placed on a ridged (17) anvil (16) beneath the lever (21). The ridge (17) is centred on the scored line and the lever (21) is depressed causing a forked block (24) to drop onto the tile (14) and effect fracture.
