Natural stone constructional component - has frames secured by synthetic resin in passages in individual stones

The natural stone constructional component is assembled and reinforced by means of frames inserted in passages in the individual stones and secured to the latter by synthetic resin. The frames can be of flexible fibres immersed in the resin at the time of manufacture of the component. The resin is of a type such that contraction as the result of polymerisation produces a pre-stressed component. Alternatively the frame can be formed by rigid bars or tubes of reinforced resin, and the passage accommodating it can be left partly free at the ends to allow fitting together with an adjacent component.
