A process for preparing alkalimetalchlorferrater (! I, III) and their use for coloring ceramic products

Alkali metal chloroferrates(II, III) are compounds from the system comprising alkali metal chloride/iron(II) chloride/iron(III) chloride. They are prepared by melting together alkali metal chloride with anhydrous iron(III) chloride and iron powder. Instead of a single alkali metal chloride it is also possible to use a mixture of a plurality of alkali metal chlorides. The products are used in the colouring of ceramic material.
