ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREThe invention disclosed is a process for the production of acellular thermosetting foam provided on at least one surface with a reinforcingand fireresisting layer of particulate material. A foamable composition isdistributed on a suitable substrate surface and a layer of particulate materialis evenly distributed on the surface of said composition prior to completecuring. As inexpensive material such as sand or gravel may be used, theprocess is economic and easy to apply it can be used for the production ofslabs of cellular plastic or of foam layers with a protective coating on e.g.wall panels, roofs, insulating material and the like.
