A rotary swaging machine has a central container (1a) to receive the material to be swaged. This container has four radially sliding arms (2), with the radial movement being controlled by the axial movement of a cage (3). This cage houses taper rollers (4) which are in contact with the radial arms. - The cage is driven through a gear train so that it rotates at a different speed from the input shaft (1). The inclined surfaces (A) between wheels (8, 11) thus impart an axial motion to the cage, which in turn imparts radial motion to the arms through the taper rollers.
