Aspirin and dipyridamole salt compsn. - having blood platelet aggregation inhibitory activity

Therapeutic compsns. contain acetyl salicyclic acid, or one of its derivs. (I) together with a strong acid salt of dipyridamole (II). Suitable salts of (II) include the hydrobromide, hydrochloride, sulphate, phosphate and p-toluene sulphonate. Compsns. have blood platelet aggregation inhibitors activity, and are used in the treatment of thrombosis. They are easy to administer, well tolerated, have good stability and are more effective than (II) alone. In an example capsules were prepd. contg. 100 mg dipyridamole sulphate, 60 mg acetyl salicyclic acid, and 2 talc.
