The electrical connector has a cylindrical plug whose front surface is designed to fit into a coupling receptacle. The plug has at least one ca ity in it which opens out at its front face. It also has at least one removable module which is designed to be located in the cavity. The module has a hole in it for receiving an electrical contact. The cavity in the plug permits the insertion of various modules having different numbers of holes and contacts. This enables a single plug to be used for several electrical functions.
