Seat cushion esp. for vehicle seats is made of a block of plastics foam provided with closely fitting case made by shaping a flat sheet. The cushion has a central surface area contiguous with a circumferential mantle along a closed line (sic). The mantle is formed by folding over a section of the flat sheet forming the edge of a tray- or shell-shaped structure resulting from deformation of the flat sheet. The bottom of the tray forms of topside of the cushion.
