The support (2) has a square-shaped foam core (10) formed from homogeneous viscoelastic foam, and a support surface for supporting a lying surface (4) of a medical treatment table i.e. operating table (1). A slot (25) and another slot are formed in a support surface-sided region in the foam core and are formed with a V-shaped cross section. A prominent hinge-joint (8) is arranged in an edge region of the lying surface. The foam core includes lower- and upper foam layers (11, 12) for supporting the treatment table and upholstered supporting of a patient, respectively.
