A press for consolidation of continuous panels of resin-impregnated board comprises a pair of relatively thin gauge metal boards passing as moving loops between platens each faced with meshed arrays of bars which can alternately move vertically and longitudinally with short, reciprocating movements. Used for consolidation of particle board, fibreboard, etc.. The machinery motion is smoother and less subject to wear than systems having metal bands skidding past static press faces. The board is maintained under pressure via pressure on half the reverse face of the bands.
