REARRANGING APPARATUS FOR ROLL OF MULTISTAGE ROLLING MILL

PURPOSE:To enable the backup roll to be quickly and easily rearranged, by laying the rail for running the backup roll-rearranging carriage in an outward extended length so as to cross the rail for running the work roll-rearranging carriage, and by installing a communicating rail between the terminal end of above-mentioned rail extension and the roll shop. CONSTITUTION:The rail 46 for running the backp roll-rearranging carriage 47 is laid in a length extended to outside of the rearranging field for work rolls, parallelly to the pass line, and crossing the rails 28, 30, 31, for running the carriage 24 for rearranging work rolls 6, 8, of the multistage rolling mill; a roll shop-communicating rail 55, connectable to the old backup roll loading rail 49 laid on the carriage 47, is installed between the terminal end of above-mentioned rail extension and the roll shop. By the present constitution, the new and old backup rolls 2, 4, can be transmitted by the carriage 47, 57, on the rails 46, 55, into a spot between the rolling mill and the roll shop, in which the new and old backup rolls 2, 4, can be rearranged. As a result, the rearrangement of rolls can be finished quickly in a short time.
