PURPOSE:To prevent an over flow rate operation, errosion, noise and vibrations of cooling water pumps in a case wherein one or more of condenser cooling water pumps are stopped and cooling water is supplied using the rest, by operation flow control valves located at inlet and outlet sides of the condenser. CONSTITUTION:In a case wherein it is desired to stop one of the pumps 1, 1', in operation, the condenser outlet side valve 5 is throttled to a valve opening with a cavitation generation limit taken into consideration, and then the condenser inlet side valve 3 is similarly throttled. Thus, by throttling the valves to an opening with a cavitation coefficient sigma taken into consideration, fluid resistance can be decreased and cavitation that will or otherwise generated downstream in a piping of the condenser outlet side 5 can be prevented, and by throttling the condenser inlet side valve 3, an exceeded flow rate operation of the pump 1 or 1' can be prevented. Consequently, vibrations, noise and others can be prevented.
