Surfacing for sports areas, particularly tennis courts, and method of construction

The cover layer of the surfacing is produced from a binding composition consisting essentially of brick dust, mineral material and tile adhesive. The mineral material used is preferably finely divided quartz sand. The strength of the cover layer, its slip behaviour and softness can be adjusted substantially by appropriate selection of the component fractions and of the cover layer thickness. For production an aqueous pitch-like slurry of the components is applied to a prepared upper tamping surface, a bitumen- or cement-bound lower layer or the like.
