The meter comprises measurement chambers consisting of two compartments with a diaphragm between them and a hole on one side which forms the gas inlet and outlet. This hole is in the diaphragm clamping area. It is widest at this point and its cross-section decreases towards the diaphragm end position, in which about 15% of its total cross-section is still open. This hole is divided in several smaller wedge-shaped passages, whose longitudinal axes coincide with the diaphragm direction of movement, and their wider ends are near the diaphragm clamping plane.
