The membrane consists of an elastically flexible membrane material with a synthetic web armour and has a central region, an outwardly terminating ring region and an annular edge region. The ring region (4) has at least one strengthening in the form of a rib (10) made of the same material as the membrane and formed on the ring region. The rib can be circular, elliptical, helical, etc. USE/ADVANTAGE - Esp. for measuring domestic gas consumption.
