The conveyor (13) is impermeable, acting with a permeable continuous belt (6) to carry the fibre layer (2) on its upper level (5). The vacuum unit (10) is located below the upper level (5) of the permeable conveyor (6), to collect the fibres (2) into a felting layer. The design reduces the length of the equipment needed to mfr. a felting.
