The device has a continuous conveyor belt (1) for transporting a container e.g. bottle (4), in a direction of a longitudinal axis in a horizontal position. A rotation roller (2) has a rotational axis that runs parallel to the conveyor belt. The conveyor belt and the rotation roller are fastened to a carrier and forming a conveyor belt-rotation roller unit. A swivel mechanism is provided for rotating the conveyor belt-rotation roller unit about an intended swivel axis that runs parallel to the rotational axis of the rotation roller.
