Solar energy collectors - where energy absorption is achieved by objects made of stainless steel fibres which have black surface coating

Collector consists of a mat, fleece, felt, pressing, or other object made from stainless steel fibres, which are dyed black by immersion in a mixt. of chromic acid and H2SO4. The objects are pref. located in a vessel through which a liq. is fed to absorb heat. The liq. may be fed through tubes which are embedded in the stainless steel fibre objects in the vessel. The fibrous objects form a very large surface for heat exchange, and resist corrosion while providing high adsorption of solar energy due to their black colour. The black coating resists drawing, bending and pressing operations.
